JamesNewsletter | March 2010 - As you may know RES 2010 took place in Las Vegas recently and CSN was there for all the excitement on the trade show floor.   Although I have been to this city more times than I can count--or am willing to admit to--the experience was simply wonderful!  Not only did I get to meet-up with so many people I have worked with throughout the years, I also got to meet many new people as well.  And so sometimes, whatever happens in Vegas doesn’t have to stay in Vegas. CSN looks forward to building on our existing relationships from within Indian Country and developing new ones from our face time at RES 2010.

As someone who has organized many conferences and events throughout the last twenty years, I thought RES 2010 was a successful event.  It helped to bring tribes and businesses together in a way that made sense for everyone. Read more from CSN partner, Jenni Monet, on the spirit of Native entrepreneurs in Indian Country today.

As always, I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the great tribal nations of the US and Canada and I look forward to seeing and working with all of you in the years to come.

Sincerely,
James Mills
President, CSN

Sample image Newsletter | February 2010- Welcome to Creating Stronger Nations.com. Our web-site has received a face-lift and not a moment too soon. We hope you like the new look, and more importantly, the content.

CSN is now a Native-Owned organization. With that comes a new era for the company and for our clientele. We take this as both an opportunity and an acknowledgement of our great responsibility to all of you, our clients. We will work vigorously to get the word out about what it is that we do and how we can help your organization to be everything it can be.

CSN is also online in more ways than one. In this digital age of social networking, Creating Stronger Nations is working hard to make sure that everyone has access to everything we do here. We hope that you will take a moment to join us as a fan or a friend on our Facebook, Twitter and Vimeo pages. Here, you can learn about the latest events and news from CSN, or offer your suggestions on how we can improve our services.

As always, CSN is grateful for the continued support from Indian Country. And we have hit the ground running in 2010. In January alone, CSN has worked with the Stillaguamish tribe, the Suquamish tribe and the Native Village of Eyak, Alaska to make their organizations run more efficiently and more effectively. By updating their governing documents, Native organizations can realize the great potential just waiting to be unleashed.

As we make our way into a New Year, keep CSN in mind for all your tribal governing needs. Our unique approach to the modernization of your governing documents simplifies the process and brings complete transparency to the tribal membership. Our approach dramatically increases the likelihood of your new constitution or other governing documents being adopted by the membership and/or the Tribal Council. If you are an elected or appointed official, remember that leadership training is something that can and should not be overlooked. Making a positive difference in your world, whatever that may be, is what leadership is all about. CSN has more than two decades worth of valuable insight and experience in helping your tribal governments grow and succeed.

We look forward to hearing from you, and hopefully meeting you at RES 2010. Email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

A word from James Mills / July 2009

Sample image Newsletter | July 2009 - Welcome to Creating Stronger Nations. Although it took longer than we hoped, our Tip of the Month is up and ready for viewing. It is a three part series entitled, Leadership in the Link. The first part was filmed in Nicaragua this past March. The next two segments were filmed in Guatemala and Costa Rica. Segment 1 is ready for viewing now and segments 2 and 3 will be up in the coming months.

This video Tip focuses on how varying styles of leadership often determine what works and what does not; highlighting the differences between the three countries and the serious consequences of those variances.

What is relevant about this month’s tip is that no matter who or what you are a leader of, leadership matters. Whether it is a small or large country, an Indian Tribe, a union or a small or large corporation, what you do and don’t do can have a profound effect on the people you lead.

CSN, Inc. specializes in leadership training. From the drafting of governing documents to working with and training corporate executives, tribal council members, union leaders, we are the experts in defining and honing your leadership skills. Getting elected or appointed to a leadership position is only the first step, leadership training is something that can and should not be overlooked. Making a positive difference in your world, whatever that may be, is what leadership is all about.

We look forward to hearing from you. Email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
